The desire of partners Jim Lindsay and Tracee Vickerman to provide Whitehorse with personalized pharmaceutical services, resulted in the duo launching Medicine Chest Pharmacy in 1987 at 406 Lambert Street. Since that time, the team has grown and a second location has opened at 304 Ogilvie Street. Jeff Spiers and Deah Sutton joined the ownership group in 2017, and we now have 10 pharmacists and an amazing support staff. We have expanded our services as the scope of pharmacy practice has changed and are honoured to provide care and service to our community. |

Our Team
Tracee Vickerman
Tracee spent 2 weeks in Whitehorse during the summer of 1982 and fell hard for the beauty and outdoor activity opportunities in the Yukon. She graduated from University of Alberta in 1983 and quickly moved to Whitehorse to work for Peoples Drug Mart. There, she met fellow pharmacist, Jim Lindsay, and they decided to open Medicine Chest Pharmacy in 1987. This was followed by a second location on Ogilvie in 2014. Tracee and Jim were pleased to have Jeff and Deah join them as owners in 2017. Tracee has spent her career mentoring pharmacists, advocating for the profession, and providing care to our community not only as a pharmacist, but as a Certified Menopause Educator and Certified Respiratory Educator. She still spends most of her time adventuring in the Yukon. |

Jim Lindsay
Jim came to Whitehorse for a couple of years of adventure in 1984. He enjoyed the Yukon and it is still his home today. On arrival to the territory, he was employed at Peoples Drug Mart where he met Tracee Vickerman. Tracee and Jim opened Medicine Chest Pharmacy in 1987, and put their own ideas to work: operating an independent, community minded pharmacy staffed with individuals who share their vision of going the extra mile for clients. |

Deah Sutton
Deah “came for a summer and never left” – after graduating from Dalhousie University in 1999, she moved to the Yukon to start her career as a pharmacist at Medicine Chest and loves practising in an independently owned community pharmacy. Over the years, she has gained certification in Respiratory Education, and has done training in palliative care (at the pharmacy and in a volunteer capacity). She loves getting to know and helping our clients and their families. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family biking, hiking, running and skiing. |

Jeff Spiers
Jeff grew up in Nova Scotia and attended Acadia University before transferring to Dalhousie University to complete his Pharmacy Degree in 2001. He moved to the North right after graduation. After working at different pharmacies between Whitehorse and Inuvik he settled into a position with Medicine Chest in 2003. Jeff has enjoyed watching the pharmacy grow over the years including the opening of the second location on Ogilvie in 2014. In 2017, along with Deah, he became an owner of Medicine Chest. Jeff has an interest in Travel Medicine, and also takes pride in using his extensive experience to help colleagues and clients navigate complexities of the health care system as it relates to pharmacy. He appreciates the vast outdoors of the Yukon and values raising his family in the lifestyle it offers. He spends his time hiking, canoeing, skiing and running. |

Carol Yamada
Carol has lived in Whitehorse for most of her life, and is proud to have been part of the Medicine Chest family for almost 20 years. She grew up here, left to study and work in Alberta, but returned for good in 2004. Her patient care strengths are menopause and diabetes, and her goal is to help people navigate through these experiences. She finds it rewarding to be a source of information and advice, particularly when the medical landscape is both complex and confusing. Carol is grateful to call Yukon home and take advantage of the outdoors whenever she can: biking, walking in the forest, and skiing right from her front door! In her free time she also enjoys baking pies and cakes and learning French. |

Tracey Keefer
Tracey was raised in a small town in Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and earned her pharmacy degree in 1999. She moved to Alberta for a few years when she and her husband flipped a coin and moved to Whitehorse. They had a family and moved away for a couple years but her love of the outdoors and mountains drew them back. Her extensive experience in community pharmacy has given her the ability to solve complex problems and help meet the diverse needs of our clients. When she's not at work, she enjoys hiking and camping and exploring the Yukon's lakes and rivers. |

Andrée Reynolds
Andrée is a proud east coaster, originally from New Brunswick. She graduated from Dalhousie University with her pharmacy degree and found her way north due to her love of the mountains and sense of adventure! Her story mirrors many Yukoners as she lived here for 3.5 years, then moved back east, then to Alberta for a few years. But she found her way back to the Yukon and Medicine Chest in 2014. She has worked in a wide variety of settings, but mostly in independent community pharmacies. She loves connecting with people and goes above and beyond to help all of our clients. Elle peut aussi vous servir en français. She loves to hike, mountain bike, ski and spend time with her furry ones. She and her husband currently have 2 dogs and 3 cats that they have rescued over the years. |

Casey Donovan
Casey grew up back east on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, and moved to Halifax to study biology in 2010. He attended Dalhousie University between 2010-2018, where he eventually completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Five days after graduation his passion for all things outdoors had him packing up his truck and moving out west to the Yukon. He brings with him his expertise in medication management, as well as his east coast warmth and compassion to all the Medicine Chest clients he helps on a daily basis. He loves to spend virtually all of his spare time hunting and fishing, playing guitar, and looking for any excuse to get out in the hills. Il peut aussi vous servir en français. |

Jane's love of the outdoors brought her to the Yukon shortly after graduating to pursue her pharmacy career. Jane always takes excellent care of our clients and their medication needs. She also has a special interest in Travel Medicine and is enthusiastic to use her expertise within our expanded scope of practice to offer support, advice and recommendations to our clients. She spends most of her free time in the mountains running, biking, hiking, and hunting. She also coaches youth in cross country skiing. |

Kim joined the staff at Medicine Chest in 2021. Her experience in the north, in a variety of practice settings, as well as her care and dedication to clients makes her a wonderful addition to our team. Jordan came to Whitehorse in the summer of 2023 after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan. She decided to make the move, having never been to the Yukon Territory, after joining the Medicine Chest team earlier that year. She is eager to start her career as a pharmacist surrounded by the incredible nature and opportunities the Territory has to offer. Having worked in pharmacies in Saskatchewan, she is already using the full scope of her new Yukon license to serve our clients with compassion and dedication. Jordan enjoys exploring the trails, hiking, and admiring the trees when she isn't immersed in a new book or video game. |
